Hey How You Doing
Welcome, thanks for stopping by. What’s the word I hear you cry. Well busy is the main word. Yes its been another hectic 6 months since I last wrote on here. Well January is on the horizon which can mean only one thing, its bloody cold oh and that I have entered for the 3 rd time the annual European ETA [ Elvis Tribute Artist ] Championships. This is being held not in Blackpool which has become the norm but at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham on the NEC complex. All the info regarding this weekend held on the 6th, 7th and 8th Jan 2011 can be found at www.elviscontest.co.uk including ticket prices, accommodation etc.
Forwarding on to April 2011 I have also entered the Ultimate Tribute Artist competition to be held at the Norbrik Castle Hotel, Blackpool where I will be entering as Johnny Cash. This competition has artists doing their tribute acts from the last 50 years of pop inc Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Madonna, Buddy Holly and lots lots more. Go to www.ultimatetributecontest.co.uk for all the info you need regarding hotel, ticketing etc. Im looking forward to these weekends very much as the atmosphere is normally fantastic.
I was not planning on doing as many gigs in 2010 but as it turned out I have been as busy as ever with a lot of new venues hearing of the Dave B vibe and getting me booked. Bookings are already taking shape for 2011 and if you are interested in getting some hot rock n roll and country with a tribute to the KING thrown in for good measure then go to the Contact page and get in touch with me.
Im also looking to do about 10/12 gigs with my own new band next year, im especially on the look out for a double bass player and a drummer. If you are interested or know of such musicians based in the South East then again get in touch via the Contact page leaving your details.
Dates for your diary are at 2 new venues, 9th December and Christmas Eve im at the beautiful Cooden Beach Hotel in Bexhill. Go to www.coodenbeachhotel.co.uk for all the info you need. Also on the 17th December im at the Bridge Bar in East Grinstead which should be a great night. Check out the gig guide for all the info you need.
Thanks for stopping by till next time keep rockin

A couple of things have come up since writing at the start of the month both rather exciting.
This Saturday 24th April 2010 Dave B is a featured artist on Discovery Radio which is an Internet radio station. Its rumoured at least 3 of Dave Bs tracks will be played as well as info on the south's premier Elvis Tribute Artist.
The show begins at 8pm so listen out and add your support not only to Dave but also Dave Stevens doing a fantastic job at Discovery Radio. The link to the show is here.
Secondly Dave B is taking part in Pevfest on Saturday 24th July 2010. This is a 12 hour music festival in aid of Charity in the coastal Village of Pevensey Bay, East Sussex with at least 6 venues putting on bands and entertainment free as well as stalls and refreshments.

Hi To All Of You
Welcome to my latest update. I hope this finds you all well. The year got off to a good start when I went to Blackpool for the annual Elvis Convention/Championships at the Norbrik Castle Hotel.
This event coincides with Elvis' birthday celebrations on 8th January and this being his 75th year there seemed an extra buzz about the place.
TV crews and national press were there and my picture was featured in the Daily Mirror along with some other ETAs on Wednesday 13th Jan 2010. Reporter Steve Myall was on hand all weekend and took part in the novice competition, all the while seeking advice and tips from us before his heat to calm his nerves. Great to meet you Steve. Pictures from this event can be found on the galleries page.
I have not done as many gigs as normal since then through choice mainly to give the old tonsils a rest but it all kicks off again from April 3rd at Lingfield Club and does not let up for the rest of the year.
One event is at Chartham Park Golf Club on April 24th, this is a great venue just outside East Grinstead, West Sussex and should be a really good night. Tickets are £10 in advance inc buffet, call 01342 870340 50s fancy dress is a must I mean optional. Info on these and all other gigs can be found on the gig guide.
A lot of new songs by different artists are now being given the Dave B treatment with the likes of Shakin' Stevens, Johnny Cash, Bobby Vee, Brian Setzer, and more being introduced to the sets. The Elvis hour has been given a makeover with a lot of film tracks introduced as well as a lot of early 70s stuff also.
Plans are in motion for the follow up to Dave B's first Album First Take lovingly known as Mistake, the studio time has been put aside for the summer months so by the time we next write in detail more info will be available. With so much material out there its hard to try and cram in favourites but we will listen to Dave B fans and if they want a particular track on the next album email us via the Contact page and let us know what you want to hear.
Dave B has also been accepted as part of the Association Of Professional Elvis Presley Tribute Artists. This is a website where ETAs from across the globe have there profile on one website for all to see and it also represents that those ETAs [Elvis Presley Tribute Artists if you are still wondering] on the site are there portraying and protecting the name and image of the greatest entertainer of all time. Phew that was a mouthful as some one once said to me. Well that just about covers it for now please check back for any news items otherwise the next essay will be in the Autumn.
Keep rockin and see you at a gig one time soon
Regards Dave B.
