Dave B's News Archive 2008
The look and sound of the king and more ……!
November 26th 2008
Hi Rockin Cats
Spread the word its finally here, Dave B's long awaited 14 track studio recorded long player CD entitled First Take is available now and it's a belter.
This is what the fans see and hear at gigs and you can now have him in your front room [if you catch my drift] on your ipod or mp3, in your car or whatever takes your fancy.
This is what Dave B is all about 14 tracks of classic rock n roll and rockabilly numbers that will have you pressing repeat over and over again. Artists covered on this album include Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent, Billy Fury, Eddie Cochran, Ricky Nelson, Johnny Cash, Cliff Richard, and of course not forgetting in detail classic Elvis Presley covers of which there are 4. Dave B has tried to keep the sound as authentic as possible and the production was a long and tedious process. Many thanks go out to the main man Big Gaz for producing this stack of wax. Some of the tracks you can hear on the audio page or alternatively go to Dave B's myspace at www.myspace.com/davebrockin. This cd will be available at all gigs or you can contact Dave via the contact page on this site and the myspace page for postal details.
Also the next years gigs booked so far will be posted onto the gig guide in the next couple of days. If you are interested in booking Dave B for your event go to the contact page and get in touch he doesn't bite. Have yourselves a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2009.

Welcome my rockin buddy's to this my latest update. The long awaited debut studio CD entitled First Take is nearly complete with all the tracks now recorded and just the cover artwork to finalise. I am very excited as these tracks are like the tracks of my years, by this I mean that they are all songs from some of my favourite artists of all time. The listing includes That’s Love, Treat Me Nice, Double Talkin’ Baby, Ring Of Fire, It Doesn’t Matter Anymore, Its Late, My Baby Left Me and many more. This should be completed before Xmas and will make an ideal stocking filler for your loved one. Thanks to big Gazza for all his support on the making of this album without whom it would not have been possible.
Well its been another eventful summer with tours up to the grim north [only kidding] where I was warmly received especially in Hexham. While down south I seemed to have gained a very lovely core of people who come to most gigs for a damn good rockin time.
The Vegas Nights Show at the Chequer Mead Theatre, East Grinstead was a fabulous night and I have also been reunited with my old buddies Rockaround for a couple of one off gigs where we have rocked the place and received tremendous feedback.
I have been a featured artist of the week on Diversity FM in April and over in Stockholm, Sweden my tracks are played regulary on Radio Dixie, check this fab station out at www.freewebs.com/radio-dixie-english/
The gigs for next year are coming in thick and fast these you will be able to see on the gig guide very soon. I am unable next year to attend the Walk A Golden Mile In My Shoes competition in Blackpool due to gigging commitments but im going to stick my neck out and say my old buddy Ricky Aron will win. If you are interested in booking me for gigs in the future whether it be a party, wedding, venue etc head for the contact page on this website and get in touch.
Don’t forget my myspace page @ www.myspace.com/davebrockin where you can hear some of my latest tracks and see loads of videos of yours truly in action.
Well that’s about it for the time being, do tell us what you think of the website and of anything else to do with Dave B by visiting our Guest book and signing it with your comments.

Today Dave B was the featured ETA [Elvis Tribute Artist] on Diversity FM 103.5. His track 'Fool Such As I' was played on the Quick Draw Radio Show across Lancashire and the Northwest of England and via their website at www.diversityfm.co.uk
His song could be heard after one of Elvis'obscure gospel songs and it was hard to tell the difference between Dave B and the real deal. Dave B becomes one of the first tribute Artists in Europe to have one of his tracks played on a Radio station. Highlights of the show can now be heard on the audio page. Just click and enjoy the next best thing to the King.

Welcome to my news page.Well its been a mixed bag of a lot happening and not as many gigs as last year. The year started with my first visit to the Elvis Tribute Artist's (ETAs) European Championships at the Norbrik Castle, Blackpool. This brilliant event sees the best ETAs from across Europe competing for the title of Europen Champion. Unfortunately I did not win but just being at this event was fantastic. There is a fantastic bond amongst ETAs with everyone geeing each other up to do well. I must say a lot of alcohol was consumed on this weekend so what I think I remember and what actually went on are two different things. The deserved winner was Rob Kingsly and his performance, backed by the brilliant band Red Alert, was right on the money for me. I will definitely be back next January and its a perfect time of year for this event 'cos not only are we all there to celebrate the King's birthday on Jan 8th its the fact that January for most of us is a quite time of year gig wise.
This week April 7th its been announced that i'm the ETA of the week on the Quick Draw Radio Show on Diversity Radio FM. The show is on Friday April 11th at 2pm and 9pm GMT. You can tune in to this show if you are in the Northwest (of England) on 103.5 FM or listen worldwide online at www.diversityfm.co.uk.
I have a few dates now across the country. In June i'm doing 3 dates over one weekend in Doncaster, Hexham and Burnley. Later in the year i'm in Tadcaster in September and am also looking for some more gigs on this particular weekend so if anyone out there knows of a venue that would be interested please get in touch. In July i'm in a fantastic show, it says here, called VEGAS NIGHTS at the Chequer Mead Theatre, East Grinstead, West Sussex. This is a one off show on Saturday 26th July paying tribute to all the best of Vegas including Manilow, Rat Pack, Tom Jones etc and myself as the King Elvis Presley. Tickets are priced at £11.00 with £9.00 concessions. Check the gig guide for all the info about all these gigs.
A new cd is in the pipeline for this summer and this should be my best project to date. I have some great songs in mind and it could be up to 14 tracks. The live cd sells well at gigs and more merchandise is planned for the near future also. Well, I think that's about it for the time being, keep checking the News page for any updates as well as the gig guide and come along to a show and have a ball. Also, let us know what you think of the website by signing the Guest book and telling us what you think of any other aspect of Dave Bs Rockin Years.
